JOHN LAMB
Just for the record...John Lamb is nuts. From surf culture animation, to skateboards, to an Academy Award, Lamb's work has consistently been in the public eye for over four decades! He's also an artist, an animator, an Academy Award winner, a surfer, a cult icon and a local hero to Orange County.
We love him and we are very pleased to have his latest work, "Blast From the Past" on our walls!
John Lamb wreaks havoc with his explosive, mushroom clouded imagery from the baby boomer generation's oblivious pop culture as the Atom Bomb was busy frying humanity. With his work you tend to focus on the obsurdity of the autrosity instead of the action.
Printed on recycled satin aluminum, (which by the way is the same exact metals used in the bomb and the planes that dropped them for instance the kind used in P-38's, flying fortresses and battleships of WW2), Lamb's work imagines a frozen moment in our history as current commentary on American culture.
John has been called "the most famous unknown surf artist in the world".
