“Soul Mapping” Experiential art provided by “Taylor”The Soul Mapping series combines action, intensity of emotion, Taylor’s love of fluidity and aggressive objects, in a detailed exploration of line and value shifts, within a 2D plane. Taylor finds harmony and balance with line and value by using each interchangeably as the equal combination of the two produces a piece of art which is Exquisite, Intricate, and Intrinsic.
Works range in size from 11” x 14” to 190” x 40” and are typically in Black and White, using imagery and objects both known and unknown to the human subconscious mind. Taylor presents to the viewer an array of imagery that is both aggressive and harmoniously interactive. All the patterns and brush strokes in Taylor’s work allow for the work to connect with the viewer’s subconscious mind in ways that only the individual observer can experience. There is wonderment in the Soul Mapping Series that is enhanced by the individual who is looking at the piece. Some of the imagery is sharp, and ridged, as if it cuts at the very soul. Other areas are free and open. The Soul Mapping experience has a definitive structure. It moves and holds the viewer in place while at the same time creating a world of its own.
" ...I sit back and study the canvas throughout the creative process as each element I add has new meaning, and breathes new life into the piece. It is interesting how as each element is added on the canvas the life force of the design begins to come to the front. Highs and lows, receding points and shadows, all begin to take shape. I allow the design to do the work and give myself the permission to sit back enjoy it. When each piece is complete I engage the work in a meditative state, allowing the creation of the work to speak to me. It is this process which I share with my collector's."
This meditative process of the Soul Mapping Series is classified as "Experiential Art." It is the process where the Collectors are able to "co-create" with the artist. Each collector is able to define and describe what the piece means to them personally. It is a very unique experience and is exclusive to the Art by Taylor.
